Countable Noun Examples
- There are at least thirty Italian restaurant in little Italy.
- Your book is on the kitchen table.
- There's a big brown dog running around the neighborhood.
- We like the large bottles of mineral water.
- I was feeling so stressed that I ate an entire box of cookies.
Countable nouns can be singular or plural
- My cat is playing .
- My cats are hungry
We can use the indifinite article a/an with countable nouns :
- A cat is an Animal
We can use some and any with countable nouns :
- I've got some dollars.
- Have you got any Pens?
We can a Few and Many with countable nouns :
- I've got a few dollars.
- I haven't got many pens.
UNCOUNTABLE NOUNS
Uncountable noun are not individual objects , so they cannot be counted .
- music ,art , love , happines
- advice ,information, news
- money , currency
- electricity, gas , power
Uncountable Nouns Examples
- There is no more water in the pond .
- Please help yourself to some cheese.
- Let's get rid of the garbage.
- Most pottery is made of clay.
- Be carefull the water is deep.
We can use some and any with uncountable nouns :
- I've got some money.
- Have you got any rice?
We can use a litle and much with uncountable nouns:
- I've got a little money.
- I haven't got much rice.
